You know those random dreams that can suddenly turn super-realistic? Those are kinda cool and kinda creepy at the same time... and I had one last night. I was awed and freaked out when I woke up at the same time.
Me and a bunch of random peeps were playing a TF2 map (I forget what it's called... one of those 5 point maps, in any case), except we were the enemy team was the special infected from Left 4 Dead 2. We had them cornered and they were stuck at their last point. We were pinning them down left and right, not giving them a single chance to escape.
And then, for no reason at all, our entire team retreated back to our last point. We made our way to the base lightning quick. I remember being very confused, but I just kinda rolled with it.
A lot of the bases in TF2 have all this crazy random equipment; ours did too. We huddled in a room with lots of machines and random things. There was a scientist there, and each machine did something pretty cool.
Each machine had the ability to turn a person into a special infected. They all had a specific one, and this effect was caused by the fusion of DNA. It could be reversed at any time by injecting a nullifier agent, and anyone who did this would retain some of thier human mind.
So of course, I wanted to try it out. I chose to turn into a hunter. I mean, who wouldn't want to do crazy jumps like that, I ask you? Aparently, before my dream happened, I'd been a smoker, so this must've been going on for some time.
Well, i went to the hunter machine and got ready to go through the process. Before i could do it properly, though, I heard a voice from outside. It was the leader of the other team, coming to kill us... or specifically, me. I don't know what I'd done to encure their wrath, but they were coming for me.
So, like anyone in a desperate situation, I went along with the fusion process anyway. I have no idea how this next part works... I just kind of flung myself onto the machine and it happened.
the reaction wasn't instant, and it took some time to set in. Just in case I hid in a side room, staying as close to the floor as possible so the intruders wouldn't see me through the giant window. This is where it got creepy for me haha.
As the fusion happened I could feel my skin writhing and bubbling. I watched as the color slowly drained from my hands, and pieces of my flesh rotted away. It felt horrible... I was actually in pain!
Unfortunately, the pain didn't go away. Since I hadn't done the fusion right, the transformation was getting all messed up. I waited and waited and waited, and I couldn't feel my body fully turn into a hunter. Instead I felt weak and the pain just wouldn't go away...
And so then I heard the voice coming closer and closer. I hid my self as best I could, but the scientist must've told her I was in there, for the door soon opened. I was dragged from my hiding spot, and... that's when I woke up.
Gah, it was just so... intense! I could feel EVERYTHING! I think I know what brought it on, too... I learned yesterday that L4D2 is coming out today, and that paired with me watching zombie fliks and writing a zombie novel... yeah. But still... whoa.

I'm the best at what I do. And what I do isn't very nice.

We stand in awe, before that, which cannot be seen
